Louis van Gaal returns as national coach of the Netherlands. The KNVB has confirmed the appointment, which was announced last month.
For Louis Van Gaal, it is his third period as national coach of Orange. He was first appointed to the Orange squad in September 2000 but resigned just over a year later when qualification for the 2002 World Cup was not achieved. However, he returned in August 2012, after which he led the Dutch national team to an excellent third place at the 2014 World Cup.
The ex-trainer of Ajax, Barcelona, AZ, Bayern Munich and Manchester United starts on September 1. Then the Netherlands will visit Norway in the World Cup qualifier. Then, on September 4, Montenegro will see, on September 7, Orange will receive a visit from Turkey.
